Overview

Kenerton Castle was founded durring the early 14th century in spring of the year 1343, by Dyepîpí Norman. The establishment of Kenerton Castle was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Kenerton Castle's construction back out of the project. Dyepîpí Norman pushed on reguardles, and Kenerton Castle was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Kenerton Castle was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kenerton Castle is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber and earth construction, with most buildigns first floors resembling mounds of earth, with subsequent floors appearing as elaborate log cabins, with each building forming a tiered pyramid of sorts fromed from the stack of rectangular, peek roofed cabins. Most wooden bracing, support, and trim is carved with decorative knotwork, and the larger structures even feature painted trim which emphasises the knotwork.

Kenerton Castle is was constructed arround several crampt paverstone mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The city posesses a mighty albit amaturly crafted stone wall. It was built using querried stone blocks and posesses all of the standard defencive features, including a few watch towers. While it would last against a siege, the wall's outdated and simplistic construction method percludes the possability of Kenerton Castle weathering a full scale bombardment durring a siege. Unfortuantly, these budget focused millitary grade defenses are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

A look around Kenerton Castle has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scuttling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s all of those things together, or perhaps it's the way these elements combine with the simple fact that it is abundantly clear Kenerton Castle suffered something horrible some time ago. It's as if the town itself is depressed. Smiles are few, cheer is nowhere to be had. Everyone quietly goes about their daily business not looking anyone in the eye. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Kenerton Castle long.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Kenerton Castle was attacked by members of a peasant revolt. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Kenerton Castle lost 299 people, 154 livestock, and 54 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 88, when members of Kenerton Castle's militia enacted an operation to deliver supplies to a specific strategic location. The operation was complicated by the officers in charge fight among themselves, weakening the army as a whole. The conflict ended with the defense of the strategic location against a siege, which ended in a crushing defeat for Kenerton Castle's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Kenerton Castle's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
